Degree of Difficulty
Which do you think is harder - getting one person to build a handful of new habits, or getting seven people to develop them within the same timeframe?
If success required 100% adoption of the new habits by the team members, how much harder do you think it would be to get the entire team to the finish line?
How do these odds change if they have access to a coach, versus trying to instill the new habits all on their own?
A coach is going to help, right? A good coach will be a significant help.
This is what I think about when I see entrepreneurial leadership teams trying to self-implement the tools and disciplines of EOS into their business. It can be done (I’ve personally seen some teams who have done a world-class job at this), but it is not easy.
Team members could (and should) hold each other accountable. Ultimately, self-implementing anything is a question of accountability. How willing are you to hold your team to a high standard?
If you start cutting corners and letting people off the hook, the effort can quickly fizzle out. Sometimes, that is exactly what some members of your team want to happen.
When you ponder the cost of hiring an EOS Implementer, ask yourself: How much would I pay if I knew with certainty that my 10-Year Target would be achieved?
Keep that number in the back of your head.
Professional EOS Implementer can’t guarantee the outcomes your team will generate, and we can’t do the work for you. But every one of our sessions is fully guaranteed.
Maybe try working with an Implementer, see how the day goes, and see some of things that maybe you’ve been missing from your internal efforts.
